This is the first year in a while that I've actually been able to put together a wish list for Christmas. Normally if I want something I just buy it for myself. Nick and I have both been cutting back on spending and trying to stick to our "strict" budget to save our pennies for the house.
2013 Wish List
King comforter / OXO kitchen gadgets tool / Wall art / Amazon.com - Clear Recycled Glass Soap Dispenser w/ Rustic Stainless... / Amazon.com: Magasin Dish Drainer: Everything Else / Amazon.com: Clover Large Pom Pom Maker: Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Kind of boring, I know. I guess that's what happens when you "grow up". There were a few other things that I had on my Amazon list, like birch tree candle holders, and a new coffee pot.
Basically everything is for our future home. Oh, except those pom-pom makers that I still haven't bought myself. Maybe Santa will put them in my stocking for me? And that gorgeous print off of Etsy. That isn't the one that I had originally wanted, but it's by the same artist and is equally as beautiful! It would look so lovely hanging in our bedroom, or possibly a hallway somewhere?
The dish drainer is from IKEA, we've been using a gross plastic one that is well passed its prime. The cool recycled glass soap dispenser is actually for our dish soap. I've been working on de-cluttering out kitchen counters recently. (Been making real strides in that department..the toaster even has a place in a cupboard now, instead of permanently out on display! Little victories!) I think it looks cool and sort of modern-y but still very classic cottage. Just try and envision it sitting next to a big ol' industrial pull down faucet, with a white farmhouse sink. Can you see it? Great!
Even though there are things that I am dreaming of getting on Christmas morning, I am very thankful for everything that I currently already have! My amazing family, a healthy baby (GASP she isn't a baby anymore! Now she's a toddler! Walking and everything!) and a loving fiance. We're pretty lucky, and it is always good to take time and appreciate the things you have in your life. Maybe take some time to sort through your old winter clothes, toys, housewares, and donate them!
Happy Holidays everyone!
XOXO
Sam
